Our Story: How My Backyard Rentals Was Born

The vision really started in their own backyard....
Oftentimes when friends and family were over, someone would say, “I wish we had a backyard like this just to hang out for the day.” And it stuck with David, a father of four from New Jersey.
At the same time, his wife Alexa, a high school English teacher, couldn’t help but think about her students, families who would love a space like this for sports, swimming, photos, celebrations or just being together.
Watching their own kids enjoy the backyard made them realize something simple. Not everyone has access to a space like this, and some people who do barely use it.
So they asked a simple question, “What if homeowners could safely share their space, earn extra income, and give others a place to relax, celebrate, and make memories?”
That idea became My Backyard Rentals.
A simple way to turn your backyard into something more for your family and someone else’s.
